About Us

Tina Pathak

Hi all! I am a High School student in New York passionate about writing and politics. As founder of The Writer Haven I wish to see young writers rising to challenges and create something that will effect real change. We are all story tellers but some of us have been given the gift to write our stories on paper.

The Writer Haven is a journal where you can get your writing published, critiqued, and celebrated. I certainly have a lot of experience writing after completing a novel in my Freshman year as well as writing numerous fiction stories. Writing a bigger piece of fiction is always daunting but with a little help I believe every writer has the chance to shine.

The Killing Circle

Blast from a Better Past

I wrote this piece a month before Roe v. Wade was overturned. I reread it wondering why I had so much faith in our Supreme Court that I choice not to listen to the words I had read in a leaked document. This essay outlines reasons why Roe v. Wade was a crucial right to American women and what the consequences of overturning it will be. Hope you enjoy a blast from the past.

The Discovery on Broadway

Recently a contest winner, The Discovery on Broadway discussed what gave me hope during COVID using intricate details of The Strand bookstore in New York City. It is one of my favorite places and if you have not been maybe this piece will have you dying to hit the subways and go on your next adventure.
